The Great Neck Board of Education, upon recommendation from Superintendent Dr. Kenneth R. Bossert, recently granted tenure to 24 teachers and three administrators in the Great Neck Public Schools.

At the June 20 public meeting of the GNPS Board of Education, Board trustees and district administrators joined with the candidates’ gathered families and friends to acknowledge, celebrate, and applaud their accomplishments. Administrators spoke on behalf of the candidates they recommended for tenure, expressing common themes: candidates are passionate about their work, they bring out the best in their students, they engage their students and help them love to learn.

Tenure has been granted to the following faculty: Susan Chung and Russell Cohen, North High; Christopher Cioffi, Erica MacDonald, Allison Marchese, and Francis Will, South High; Nicholas Hablenko, SEAL; Eileen Fusco, Kimberly Gordon, Laura Hicks, Amanda Lalena, and Susan Solosky, North Middle; Andrew La Greca and Yuyue Zhang, South Middle; Maria Hanakis, Wendy Milcetic, and Jamie Reynolds, E.M. Baker Elementary; Felice Paige Heller-Lenga, J.F. Kennedy Elementary; Lisa Keegan and Maryann Tabibzada, Lakeville Elementary; Nicole Laurino, Lindsay Lee, and Heather Miller, Saddle Rock; and Steven Smith, Parkville School.

Additionally, tenure was awarded to three administrators: Dr. Justin Lander, district director of technology; Kathlyne Snyder, assistant principal at North High; and Ai-Huei Chang-Lau, assistant principal at John F. Kennedy Elementary.
