    Alyssa Satin Capucilli, author of the popular Biscuit and Katy Duck series and more, virtually visited grades K - 2 at E. M. Baker School on Friday, March 5, 2021! Students and staff enjoyed hearing all about the creation of a book - from idea to publication.

    On March 18, 2021, award-winning Illustrator and author, Brian Pinkney virtually visited grades 3,4, and 5 at Baker School! Students were given a bird’s eye view into Mr. Pinkney’s studio and were inspired to create their own art!

  • 3D Printed Gifts of Appreciation

    Students in first-grade classes used the design process to create tokens of appreciation for staff integral to the day-to-day operation of EMB. In addition to the main office, Baker’s kitchen staff, nurse’s office, custodial staff, and paraprofessionals who work with their class were visited and acknowledged with personalized cards and 3-D printed keychains.

  • International Week

    Family Treasures That Bind Us was our International Week theme this year! Each morning began with a school-wide ZOOM to kick off the day. Storyteller, Julie Pasqual, shared folktales via ZOOM! Students visited the Family Treasure Showcase featured above with shared artifacts from the staff. Flipgrids shared by our students will be available the week of February 22nd so that we can learn about the family treasures of our Baker families.

  • Pause & Think Online

    A school-wide Pause & Think Online focus was launched on January 11th. Lessons reviewing safety and security online, information literacy, and media balance were highlighted school-wide. The conversation continues throughout the school year.
