Welcome to SEEK

  • SEEK provides in-depth, extended instruction. These classes foster critical and creative thinking in an inquiry-based learning environment.  Students engage in rigorous challenges beyond the regular classroom instructional program and, in some cases, participate in activities, projects, and assignments in lieu of those offered in the classroom.

Mrs. Malfi teaches grade 3 SEEK students and Mrs. Boylan teaches grade 4 and 5 SEEK students.

SEEK teachers work closely with classroom teachers in a variety of ways to provide professional development for differentiated instruction resulting in an enriched curriculum for all students.

Identification of SEEK students begins in third grade and is based on the following criteria:

    • Local and standardized assessments
    • Teacher observations and recommendations
    • Current learning characteristics

Student academic performance is continually monitored and evaluated by all teachers and consideration for SEEK is ongoing.  Each year children are reassessed to determine whether SEEK services are required.
