Office of Security
Mission Statement: The purpose of the Great Neck Public Schools Security Department is to protect the lives of, and render assistance to, any and all persons within the confines of the school district and to protect school district property. Developing safe and secure surroundings in the public school venue is the responsibility of the entire community. The Superintendent of Schools assigns the primary mission for the protection of persons and property within the Great Neck Public Schools. Methods and approaches to assist in achieving a safe and secure environment are developed through a strong working relationship with local law enforcement agencies, in which prevention programs are developed in concert with the community. The Security Department makes a strong effort to maintain an environment that is conductive to safety and security which allows educational, professional, and personal growth for all members of the school community. A safe school district is a place where diverse social, cultural, and academic values are allowed to prosper.
Hours: The Security Office is staffed 24 hour/day, 7 days/week, weekends and holidays included. Security mobile patrol is also conducted during non-school hours and non-school days.
