A unique program offered to sixth graders is a four day experience at the Greenkill Environmental Education Center. The children have an opportunity to explore a 1,000 acre classroom in Huguenot, New York. The Greenkill field campus is located 4 miles north of Port Jervis in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains. The terrain and habitat around the three lakes and streams of the Greenkill facility are varied and support a diversity of flora and fauna.
The children will be placed in learning groups by the teachers and will meet for the four days with their group.
All children will participate in a variety of activities geared to the lessons presented in the science classes prior to our departure.
Most of the activities take place outdoors, so appropriate clothing is required.
