One of the goals stemming from the Shared Decision Making Committee was to reach out to the elderly community in Great Neck and make a difference in their lives. Our 5th graders, along with the PE Teachers and the Technology Staff, created this senior fitness video of lower body and upper body exercises from a seated position, with modifications for the more able bodied.

Service Learning Projects at Saddle Rock

    Winter Care Kits

    4th grader students worked together to mkae winter care kits for families who are visiting the clothing pantry this winter. Care kits include hats, gloves, scarves and a personalized note.

    Read-A-Thon

    5th graders participated in a Read-A-Thon in the school library. Students pledged to read a certain number of pages as part of their ongoing service learning project with the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.

    3rd Grade Pajama Drive

    Third graders hosted a pajama drive as part of their school service-learning project. The goal was to reach 60 new pajama sets, and they exceeded their goal!
